Mindfulness/meditation - PTSD

Hi,

I feel mindfulness and meditation could help me with my PTSD however I am anxious it could trigger flashbacks and dissociation as I suffer with that a lot.

Any advice/experiences would be great.

Personally I have found mindfulness great for keeping me in the present moment and feel really grounded I feel it's almost kept me from having a flashback as I feel anchored.

I much prefer mindfulness that requires me to think about something ie brushing my teeth mindfully, or counting as I breathe. I cannot think of nothing or I can get anxious. But I've found mindfulness to be fantastic especially dealing with anxiety.

I found mindfulness helpful with my ptsd as it helped me practice grounding myself which helped with flashbacks.
I don't always find meditation helpful but its never had a negative effect on me - sometimes it helps me relax but sometimes it just doesn't really work.
