How do I build a support system for myself?

I have been in a relationship for a year and a half with a great guy. Throughout our entire relationship I have been working on my mental health, but it has been very difficult because my support system consists of him and one other friend. I don't know how I can reach out or how to tell who I can reach out to. I have seen the strain I put on my boy friend as a problem for a while, but he just brought it up for the first time last night. Any advice on how to find people to add to my support system?

Can you see a doctor about this?
Having professional support means that friends and family become additional support instead of your main support.

I'd definitely second what Kitty Galore said. Having a doctor or a therapist can be a big help. Just having other places to put all the heavy stuff you're carrying can go a long way.

Also maybe journaling can help if you're short on support too? I don't have a lot of friends who live near me right now so I've been seeking support here and journaling a lot and it seems to help a little bit.
