Risperidpne Depot Injections.

Hi.

Has anyone ever had the risperidone depot injections? If so what's been your experience? I have had it orally in the past.

I haven't had it but I am on a depot so if you are wanting general experience of being on a depot I can help.

Oh ok and what is your experience of them. Where about in your ass do they stick it?

I used to have the Risperidone depot. They used to inject in the 'upper outer quadrant' of the bum so quite near the top at the outside.

Oh right ok. Do they hurt?

You might feel a sharp scratch (like you feel when you go for a blood test ) but it literally only lasts a few seconds. I got stinging afterwards for half an hour but I have it no longer. My cpn told me to rub the area.

I also got a painful site which made sitting on hard chairs very painful for the first 48 hours. But not everyone gets it. I just sat on soft chairs until it passed.

Also if you are nervous then it will hurt more. The main thing is to relax.
