Depakote 500mg daily, happy to feel apathy.
So been taking Depakote 500mg daily for two weeks, I'm glad I'm not feeling emotion anymore and numbed me down. Is this normal.

I was on 1000mg of Depakote a day for three years and still felt normal emotions throughout. It's important to remember that medications affects people differently.

I'm not sure if you're asking whether it's normal to feel numb on those meds, or normal to feel happy about it?
The former: like above, everyone is different but it's not abnormal (esp. if you are on it for bipolar disorder or something like that where your emotions have been 'excessive')
The latter: if you've been really struggling with feeling too much I can understand it might feel good to feel very little for a while. However, if it becomes a problem then go see whoever prescribed it for you.

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: 'This glass is half full'. And then there are those who say: 'This glass is half empty'.
The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: 'What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Apathy can be a side effect of Depakote.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
