Yet another let down by the drug and alcohol service

My counsellor yet again failed to turn up, after feeling so unsafe I really felt I needed a counselling session even if it was brief, after feeling like I want to overdose, I took all my tablets with me to the clinic to find yet again that he wasn't coming, I ended up giving all my tablets to a friend (another client) at the clinic to hold on to, to prevent me from overdosing, and we went for a binge drink together, I'm now giving up completely on the drug and alcohol service, because their just so useless and incompetent

I'm so stressed and so alone that I want to self harm, because there is nothing else to satisfy me, the alcohol is just never enough

I feel like walking head on down the fast lane of the motorway

I just don't want to feel this unsafe any more

I'm so sorry you've been let down like this- would you consider complaining to the service? Not turning up to an appointment with a service user is completely unacceptable!

It sounds like you're feeling really unsafe- do you think you could try to seek support from the crisis team or similar service in your area?

I wish I had more words but I feel this way too- I'm sorry. It's not something I like to hear anyone is going through. I'm glad you could give the tablets to a friend. Do you feel safer now?

Thanks, I have submitted 2 complaints to the service already, nothing seems to change, I've got the details for another service, although technically out of area I think it should be fine, so long as I'm not expecting travel expenses back, I have a bus pass so that isn't an issue for me, so I'm gonna contact them first thing on Tuesday as Monday is a Bank Holiday

I'm not eligible to access the crisis team, as I was discharged from the CMHT over a year ago, but have considered ringing them with a view to asking for a new referral, as my GP wouldn't make me a new referral, his attitude was if they discharged you, you don't need it, but a lot has changed since then.

I'm also gonna speak with both Mind and Women's Aid on Wednesday, see if they can help sort this mess out

Giving the tablets to my friend did make me feel a touch safer, but not a great deal as I still feel like harming myself

it's hard when the feeling doesn't go, even though you don't have the means to do anything. It sounds like you have solid plans to get support. Hope you can hold out to then
