Are you on any new meds that you started around the same time as the nightmares started?

I was temporarily on Lofepramine last year for a few weeks when my usual tri-cyclic was having supply issues and I had extremely vivid disturbing dreams every night.

Might be something to consider.

I don't have any advice but just wanted to say that I experience very similar nightmares; mostly about me getting raped and/or murdered. I've had this for about three years now, I'm not sure what can be done about it either really...

Nightmares can be very distressing. It sounds like you are already doing some really good things to help. Something else that might help is to go through some grounding sort of stuff to remind you what you are experiencing is not actually happening and that you are safe. So saying things like I am safe, I can see (name a few things you can see), I can hear (name things you can hear) etc. If they are reoccurring nightmares you could try writing them down and then changing the ending.
