This might be better off in Vets Support, as you're more likely to find people who want to reply to support posts in there - if you PM a mod that's online [their names are in red], they'll be happy to move it for you. Or you can send a post report [click the "report" button underneath your name & mood and just say that you would like it moved.]

What exactly are you struggling with?

If you want to PM me at any time feel free :) I'm nearly always online at least once a day.

you are very welcome to vets. as said above it might be better to put another post in the vets support section as you may well get more replies of the supportive type.

let us know how we can support you. what is it you are struggling with? Feeling depressed can be an awful feeling I know. I dont have kids, but I can imagine the stresses they can sometimes cause.

when you feel you need someone to talk to but dont know where to turn, you are always very welcome to type away and post on this site. There are nearly always someone here who would be able to reply and perhaps show some understandign of what you are going through.

let us know how you are
I hope today was a better day for you
love from hammy xx

hello there
you can be as honest as you like. Just use the tags to say whether the post is going to be triggering or not. That way people know roughly what the post is about before they open it and can be prepared. There are no real rules around here but if your concerned you can have a look at the top of this site and it will tell you.

we all want to do our best to get to know you and help you, so keep on posting and dont be worried.

I haven't worked out how to set triggering warnings yet.
I am in an awful place, emotionally, complete failure, off sick, isolated myself from all my friends, just about coping with feeding the family and laundry, feel so low and can't face the future it is so hopeless.

i'm sorry that you are feeling so bad. There is a future for you though believe me, it may feel hopeless but there is something out there for you. You will have people who love you even if you dont love yourself. It sounds really hard for you at the moment and I'm sorry for that.

The problem with a lot of mental illness, depression, or anxiety, what ever....all of these things often lead us to withdraw from our friends. Its not your fault at all, it part of the way you are feeling. I know that I have withdrawn from a lot of my friends, but that doesn't mean you cant be friends with them in the future or indeed make new friends. Hopefully with time things will get better and you will feel more able to be around them. Do you have any close friend that you can be around still?

Are you seeing anyone professional at the moment? Do you think it was time you thought about seeing someone? I don't know the details of your problems or how long you have been suffering but sometimes going to your gp can be really helpful. Its entirely up to you of course though and I am not suggesting that you should go as I dont know you...I'm just opening it up as a possiblity.

Try and take each day one step at a time. A lot of people here have had or are having time off work due to sickness...you are not alone.

To set the triggering warnings click and choose from a variety of trigger options next to the title...alternatively if you cant work that out just summarise that its triggering int he title itself.

Why is it that you feel are such a failure though? I am sure that you are not, but I know how hard it is sometimes to see that.
DO you have any time to yourself at the moment when you can completly relax?

when you feel like you really cant cope, try using this site to type out your thoughts, get all the nasty feelings out onto the screen and leave them there so you can get on with your life.

much love
hammy xx

Thanks for replying.
I do see my GP who has been very understanding and has prescribed medication. He has referred me for an assessment for mh which terrifies me as I have problems with new people due to incidents in my past. Sorry to be so negative, it is very bleak just now and the only thing I even try and go on for is my kids. Otherwise I don't think I'd bother.
Thanks for your thoughtful reply.

hia, when you make a new thread next to the title box, there is a drop down menu of 'triggers' to choose from, you can also just write *trigger for ...............* or *graphic* or something like that in the title - it's what we used to do before the fancy drop down box appeared. mand x

hi
dont be frightened about having to go and see a MH team. when is your apointment, is it soon? Perhaps you could go to it with a friend or would that be too much? It can sound very daunting, and is at first, but then things get better. These people can actually help you. They can offer you therapy and good medications that can really work. Often with medications it can take time to find the perfect one for your body but with trial and error there can be hope that you will find one that will make you feel better.
I am glad that you have your children to keep going for. It would be an absolute tragedy if your were to give up. The fight is a hard battle but one which you can succeed in :)
xxx keep posting

dear Rowan,

welcome. you're in the right place.
Starting with a gp for meds is fine. that's where i started until my insurance could set me up with a psychiatrist.

I have a new psychaitrist and I'm going through a major med change after 13 years on anti-depressants. The assignments she gives me have helped so I trust that in time the new meds will too. It takes time but at least these meds are here for us! Mental Health people are on our side.

My husband chatters a lot but says little. His actions say it all. I've been disabled with depression and loss this summer. He's doing everything but the laundry and on vacation he even did that.

we're here for you. you're doing well letting us know what's going on so we can help you.

i usually check messages twice/day or more. PM me if you want. I've been where you are.

The basic rule here is, don't talk about how you injure yourself. It might give someone ideas about methods or tools.

many hugs, susan

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Thanks all, I've been so touched about your kind and welciming responses. The site overwhems me a bit, I think I'm going to take a while to get the hang of it.
I am seeing GP on Wed this week, then THE scary appt in the following Tuesday. I am already feeling very worked up about it, its very triggering for me. I have many issues in my past, unhappy childhood, many bereavements, being attacked, an abusive relationship, failure at work, etc etc. This week is going to be a real toughy especially when I am on my own which is a lot of the time.
