over eating on anti psychotics.
Anyone else have a trouble with over eating on anti psychotics?
I'm struggling a lot lately and i've gained some weight. I don't want it to get out of had or turn back to ed behaviours but im hungry all the time and hardly ever feel full.
I can't change my anti psychotic because it works so well for me I can't risk another psychotic episode.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

My cpn suggested just sticking to three meals a day but if you are like me you find it hard because you hate the hunger feeling to stick to.
I make sure that I have lots of fruit (if it's tinned make sure it's in juice not syrup). Make sure it's not cooked fruit because the act of cooking releases sugars which if eaten in large quantities will exaburate the weight gain.
If you find that you have to eat something hot, eat weight watchers or equivalent meals. If you crave chocolate or crisps, again go for weight watchers.
The best strategy is to avoid crisps, sweets and ice cream. Also the important way is the way you cook anything: frying is a definite no no. Also you may find is that fizzy drinks may fill you up: again avoid sugary pop & go for diet drinks or go for coke zero.

Thanks for reminding me about weigh watchers. I have a weight watcher subscription so ill use my app to plan healthy meals.
It's so frustrating being out of control with food. I just wanna be healthy.

Also exercise. I lost some weight recently through exercise. I am on two hunger-inducing meds.
Also sometimes I find being strict with myself and saying "I won't eat until X o'clock" helps.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

Thanks guys ill try those things.
Although I did my weight watches app yesterday and it seemed to help because all fruit and veg is free food so I snacked on that and drank plenty of water.
I need to get exercising again though I'm just worried because it sets off my asthma a bit. But ill def go back to my dance class in the new year.
