diagnosed with tourettes.

Well yesterday now I saw a neurologist and he diagnosed me with a form of Tourettes. Does anyone else here have tourettes or a tic disorder? I'm wondering about going to a Tourette support group but rather anxious. Even though I've suspected this for a while now it's still a bit of a shock to actually get a diagnosis.

I am currently:

I don't I just want to leave some support and wondered what kind of treatment the neurologist suggested to help you manage your symptoms.

I'm glad your appointment went ok because I remember how anxious you were about it and I'm glad they have found out what is wrong so that you can start to mange it and feel a bit better.

Thank you Kate. He suggested medication but was wary to prescribe as the med can affect mental health and as he knows my mh is quite unstable he will write to my psych as well as my gp to let my psych discuss meds with me. I'm waiting for the letter from him to see if he says anything else.

I do not have a formal diagnosis of Tourette's but I do have tics which are common in autism.

I hope the meds will help.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
