Hello Everyone. The RYL Staff would like to welcome you all to RYL – V3. We hope that you are all settling into our new home.
We have noticed that a lot of you seem to have similar questions about the site and so we would like to point you all in the right direction so that you can find the answers that you are looking for.

My post count does not seem to be increasing.
Please be aware that posts in the forum titles fun and Distraction no long count toward a users post count. All other forums remain unchanged as far as post counts are concerned.
Where are the picture and Events boards located?
For your Safety, RYL has introduced a new rule, which states that you need to have a post count of 10 before you can view the member only areas of RYL. This is so that we can ensure that only members known by the community can access such areas. It also helps prevent banned member from being able to see things such as meet up dates. Your safety is our main concern at RYL.
I use firefox, however when I changed my mood, it has vanished. How do I fix it?
This is a bug in the system. The team are aware of the issue and are currently working on resolving it. In the meantime, to correct the mood, open RYL using Internet Explorer. This should give you a small box with a red x in it where your mood is. If you click on this, the mood can be changed. Please bear with us on this one, we are working on correcting it.
What are the new rules on events and meet ups?
The rules have changed. We ask that all users once they gain access to the meets bored review these changes. They can be found at http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum/showthread.php?t=905
What are hugs?
If you look in any thread in one of the Support Forums, you will find a button that says +hugs+ on the bottom-right corner of the first post. By pressing this button, you are giving "hugs", and your name will appear underneath the post [along with any others that have pressed the button] to say that you have "hugged" the thread-starter.
The "hugs" system is there to show you care, even if you don't have any advice to give at that moment, and is designed to try and stop short replies consisting of only "*hugs* xx".
How do I transfer my post count?
Post counts and join date can be transferred. To do this please PM Harley or James with a link to your v2 profile. However please also remember that they both have hundreds to do so the update may take a little bit of time. We all ask that whilst this is in progress that you try to remain patient.
When will v2 be accessible?
V2 is now accessible on a read only basis at ttp://v2.recoveryourlife.com.
However, please not that at times v2 may run slow at times. If this happens please try again later. Some images and links may be broken on the site de to them being linked to the old domain. Please also not that v2 will be taken down permantly by the 19th June however i it affects current performance, it may be removed earlier. What is the buddy system?
The buddy system allows you to add people to your "buddy list", which makes it easier to see if they are online, and access their profile. You can add someone to your buddy list from their profile, or from the drop-down list that appears when you click on someone's name in a post they've made.
You can access your buddy list from the "Quick Links" drop-down list. If someone online is on your buddy list, they will have a + after their name.
Your Buddies are also the only ones who can view Journal entries you set as 'Private'.
What is Live view?
Live view allows you to watch people as they post. Its shows the last few posts in the time order that they where posted. You can access Live view from the "Quick Links" drop-down list, located near the top of the page.
Where is the Secrets thread? What is Pandora’s box?
The secrets thread was so popular on v2 that we decided to incorporate it into the main site. It is now called Pandora’s box and secrets submitted are kept anonymous. Pandora’s box can be found under the community listings near the top of the page. Please note that pictures should meet RYL current guidlines.
