Hi there,
What kind of support do you think you want to access?
There are numerous ways to access MH support; whether it's through your GP, organisations such as Samaritans etc...it all depends on where you live and what support is available in your area.
Are you able to explain a little more about your situation and where in the world you live so we can give more accurate advice?

Hi Katie,
Thank you for your response :) I'm in the Uk, Ive done 12 sessions of CBT and it did not touch upon any of my issues, it was inconsistent and very unhelpful. I wouldn't look to return.
I have been trying to desperately to get some support from secondary services, as my mh issues have been negatively affecting my life, work etc but their attitude is always 'over your dead body.'
My counsellor was so concerned that she referred me on to secondary services, where I told a psychiatrist (at an assessment on Friday) that I was feeling suicidal AGAIN and he for some reason sent a letter to my gp saying that I said I was perfectly fine and had no present concerns over my wellbeing. What? How did this happen?! I am shocked!
So on this false basis, they are denying me a care co ordinator. It's very upsetting, because I met with the manager of the crisis team and their psychiatrist, I described how I was feeling, and we were in agreement even at that time, that extra support was both needed and reasonable. (This meeting was months before I even had the assessment with the psychiatrist on Friday).
I have had to send an email to go to the psychiatrist who did Fridays assessment, and it has also been forwarded to my gp, highlighting the issue that the fact I said I was suicidal AGAIN and have tried to kill myself 3 times in a row (March, April, May) was not noted and again ignored.
I met with my gp today and discussed it all. She says to wait 2 weeks for a response and in the mean time have booked a follow up appointment with gp for 2 weeks' time. we are waiting apparently not to be fobbed off again.....xx

Hopefully your GP can help fight your corner. I had similar issues gettign into secondary servies despite hospital admissoins, referrals and etc etc
My GP started hounding them.
Now I've since been discharged, I am actually receiving more and better support from my GP again than i ever did whilst I had a CC or was under CMHT.
- except for when i was in therapy, but that service was unrelated to CMHT and I could have had that treatment without being under a CMHT -
