R.Y.L. Notifications

I think there should be notifications on one's page about any new quotes, hugs and thread replies. Rather than email notifications. Not only would be very convenient, but it would be a great help to people like me who have forgotten their passwords to their emails associated with their RYL profiles

Mods, what do you think of this?

I don't like the idea tbh. I think if you got a message every time you got a hug, something which you can't really reply to and you could get a lot, it could just clutter up your RYL screen. It's also not that important that you know. In terms of replies to threads, subscribe to it and just check a link to your subscribed threads. Also you can change the email address that RYL notifications go to.

I only use notifications for PMs and I only have that so I know if someone's PMd me when I'm not online. Even without it coming up with a pop-up/ a notification at the top of the screen, I can come on RYL and know I have a PM by the number unread in my PM box. If I have a thread that I want to see any replies to then tbh I just check them and have had no problems despite lack of notifications and I can be looking at a large number at a time and that is without notifications.

I think it would be quite challenging to implement; it would require a lot of major changes in terms of the infrastructure of the site.

I miss MSN - because then your email/subscriptions/PMs notifications popped up in your email MSN thing. Now hotmail/skype/etc. don't do that and it's frustrating.

You can change your email address so the emails would go there.

I'm refering to one that would only appear as a notification and not a message that would alert you every time you've got one.
