I don't know friend but it is not only in your country, here where I live there are. Just another dumb trend I guess.

Reminds me of the scoubidou trend when I was about 13!
It will fizzle out.

There was a social worker wearing a few of them yesterday, I was like, you probably have teenage daughters.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

It's not a dumb trend :(

It's like crochet, but with little elastic bands. Most people make bracelets, but I've also made a 3D stuffed owl, a 3D stuffed ladybird, next I'll be making a dragon and a 3D stuffed cupcake.

It's really relaxing and calming :)

Personally I think they're pretty awesome. I've never tried making them myself cos I'm just useless at things like that but I think they look cool and they're a good hobby to keep young (and older!) people busy. There is far worse they could be doing with themselves. Plus they're pretty cheap which is a good bonus for parents these days. I approve of the thread! (I meant trend but I approve of the thread too!)

I like making bracelets out of them, it's a good distraction for 20 minutes

I saw them the other week, just in a bag that you could buy, and the first thing that went through my mind was that they're exactly like plaiting bands used for horses, just multiple bright colours and with the price inflated hugely. Saying that though, I've not looked into it further than that. My mum wanted me to tell her there and then what they were for knowing that I'd never seen them before either as I'd just told her that.

I had some. Got bored quickly. Good distraction to do with your hands though.

I was wondering this too. Being creative I'm obviously curious, but are they actually elastic bands? I CANNOT stand the feeling of elastic bands. Yuck!

I've never bought any or made anything with them myself but I like them, I think they're pretty and cute. ^_^ My boyfriend made me a loom band bracelet and I absolutely love it, I wear it every day. :D

My girlfriend loves these things and has made me some pretty epic things, she made me The Hulk and another which I can't recall the other week, it was epic! Also made me a bracelet. She's making me the X-Men team :D It's pretty cool what you can do with them.

I however have very little interest in them.
