help please
Any advice?
I watched a video yesterday that really disturbed me (i don't want to go over the content).
I keep getting flash backs and crying about it and it caused psychotic symptoms last night because I was so distressed.
I don't have anyone I can talk to about it.
What can I do?
I need these images out of my mind! I wished I'd never watched it.

I just thought this post might be more appropriate in the serious section. Admit move as appropriate. Thanks.

I'm sorry watching the video has distressed you so much.
Do you have any programmes or music which is safe and could serve as a distraction?
Sorry I don't have any better suggestions, here if you want to talk.

I agree trying to replace the image with more positive and engaging ones in your mind might be worth a try, to break the pattern of reliving it and hopefully it will fade away in strength.
I'm sorry to hear you're so distressed right now :(
Also maybe grounding where you physically describe the world around you and pay really close details to everything might help if possible.

am sorry to hear you going through this....maybe try something like listening to some calming music or if you can read a funny book or watch some relaxing TV....something frivolous and lighthearted

Thanks guys it's gone off a little now. I'm still getting flashbacks but not as often and not as intense so hopefully it will ease over time.
I've been listening to lots of music and watching f.r.i.e.n.d.s because it's none offensive.
