voices and hallucinations and stuff
Just something I've been thinking about, suppose it's a bit like the 'if a tree fell in the woods but no one was around would it still make a noise' type questions.
But if you recognise and say you are paranoid or having hallucinations or hearing voices, does that mean you still have actual hallucinations and hear voices?
Weird question, probably phrased badly and I most likely won't remember I've posted this in 10 minutes but just a random question.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!
Who else is fine?!?!?

I am told that I experience auditory hallucinations, and when I am well I can usually apply logic and recognise them as such. When my mental health deteriorates, I don't recognise them as hallucinations, even though I'm hearing the same things (though they are louder and more frequent when I'm unwell.) Professionals have always called what I experience hallucinations/part of psychosis (I am diagnosed as having schizoaffective disorder.)

To add, I've never seen anything that isn't there/had any kind of visual hallucination, so I don't know about that.

I mean like, if you see a dog for example, but you know that there is no dog is it still a hallucination?

I would say it's still a hallucination, as you're still seeing it. I'm not a mental health professional though so I don't know.
