Venlafaxine and Mirtazapine together.

Hi,

I'm sorry because a) I'm rubbish at posting in general and b) incase there is a thread for this already.

I saw my care coordinator (this was a couple of weeks ago, I have seen her since though) and she suggested I try venlafaxine alongside mirtazapine because it's meant to be good for treatment resistant depression (which I don't think is actually a diagnosis of mine, but I have something along the lines of EUPD/psychotic illness and maybe PTSD, and have very low mood a lot of the time).

My question is, did anyone find this combination helpful, and what are peoples experiences of venlafaxine generally?

Thank you :)

I was on this combination for a bit, I found it really helped my mood. I hope it helps you! :)

I tried this and for me it was horrendous but that is because I just can't tolerate taking two antidepressants, which I was told is fairly unusual.

From what I remember reading at the time, lots of people find it extremely helpful. I find venlafaxine by itself helpful though :)

It'll get better. Until then, have a day."

This combination is known as California rocket fuel because of how it can improve energy and mood. I found it quite useful.

I've never tried that combination of meds, but I did try mirtazapine with trazodone. Made me very sleepy as both are sedating meds!

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
