Should I start?

I'm thinking about doing drugs. You know: drinking, smoking, etc. I've heard that it takes a lot of pain away. Right now, that sounds phenomenal. I have a great deal of pain inside of me. I now it's unsafe and it'll ruin my body but sometimes I feel like I have no choice. So my question is: Should I start doing drugs?

We are not allowed to say yes, do drugs and recommend something on here anyway. That would get us banned.

So if you are looking for drug recommendations it seems you should choose a different website.

I dont see how my reply was rude. I just explained that we are not allowed to recommend things like that on here. And if you looked for advice on how to do drugs, this is the wrong place.

I wasnt rude at any point. I just explained how things work on here.

I would really love to say yes how ever the powers that be say I can not as it is against the rules to say go ahead use drugs. I would also on a kind of related topic say that I don't feel that weed and beer are really drugs, I mean yes alcohol is a drug as it is chemically made, weed on the other hand not so much, it is more of a plant, tetrahyrocannabinol is the drug or chemical found in marijuana, just as nicotine is chemical drug found in tobacco, but there are much harder drugs out there, ones that really do damage to your system, and could lead to diseases that could give you a slow and painful death like AIDS, HIV, hep c,b or a, and if you are lucky enough you just may find yourself drugged up and put in a porn video with you and 20 old guys won't that be super.
oh sarcasm is a wonder thing..... if you have never used drugs to cope don't simple as that. go seek help.

Weed may be a "natural druk" but natural things can be dangerous as well, like eating certain plants that can actually kill you. So whats your point?

In the psychosis unit, over half of the patients are in there because of drug psychosis and mostlycaused by something as "innocent" as weed. Weed is actually one of the worst when it comes to inducing psychosis according to the doctors and people gladly smoke it because its not chemical, its a natural thing blah blah blah. But most wouldnt eat a leaf that would kill them, just because its natural, would they?

Also there is the whole deal of what weed dealing does to society, that (in denmark at least) it is a gang thing, it is reason to shootings in the street etc. We do a lot and spend many money on fighting gangs but one way we could really hurt them is by fighting the weed industry as that is their main income. And the people who buy weed and therefore support their crime.

But you know, weed is innocent, its harmless and you do not have responsibility to society and your little buy doesnt support gang crime right just like every other person thinks right?

People say it calms them, makes them relax. But what happens when they get addicted and dont get it? They walk around on edge, they get aggressive, depressed etc. Are you not just in the same situation, if not worse, than what you started out with? It may be nice when you use, that may be an escape. But the moment you dont get it, every feeling and senses and whatever in your body is multiplied. You not only feel it mentally but physically as well.

I was ip with a girl. She had smoked weed, for the first time ever, over a weekend. 2-3 days. It landed her in hospital with psychosis for over two months. Is that worth it? Are you really willing to risk that?

Because as a person who struggles with paranoia and psychosis, that is the most scary thing you can experience. When you cant tell the difference between reality and whats in your head. When you are willing to attack your closest family because you believe everyone is against you. When you see things in your room when you are alone you cant explain and is scary, smell things that arent there, hear voices yelling at you 24 hours a day. When even your own body looks strange and unreal to you.

There is nothing positive about psychosis.

I get annoyed when people say weed is harmless, that is is natural, that more people die from nicotine, that there are no proven deaths.

All i can say is, go to a psychosis hospital. Talk to the patients. And you will see the horrible results of weed and drugs in general.

And there may not be any deaths physically caused by weed but what about the people who commit suicides due to the results of weed? They happen every year. People who kills in their aggression and desperation when they dont get weed. They are sitting in the criminal psych unit. People who die in gang related crimes, fighting over the weed market in various cities. There is death connected to weed everywhere. It may not cause lung cancer or whatever, but it causes illnesses that can be life threatening.

And thats the raw truth of it.

Please listen to what others have said.

I do think it's important to remember that this is a support site. Nobody is going to recommend that you take drugs or recommend which drugs you should take.

If you are struggling, we will try and do our best to help you through safer coping mechanisms.

I spent over a year in a forensic secure psych unit (people with illnesses who had committed fairly serious crimes) and I'm not kidding, a very high percentage of those patients (everyone on my ward at least) were drug users before they were sent to prison/the hospital. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Not everyone goes crazy on drugs, but if you have pre-existing issues, then the chance that it will have a negative effect on you is greater. A chance that is really not worth taking. It would be far better to try and find someone that you can talk through your problems with.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

Few things to point out. yes drugs can take the pain away (physical and mental) but that pain comes right back when you stop cos your not dealing with it just running from it. Also some drugs can in the long term create even more pain.

If I were you, I would visit maps.org and go to the research section. Read the info, read who they are and what they are about. Get familiar with their studies.

Alcohol doesn't solve your problems. It might make you feel better (or worse) for a while, but it is not a medicine. Trust me, I know. Also do be carefull with subscription drugs. Listen to your doctor, but read about all the effects and side effects.

By smoking, I take it you mean cannabis. For some people, it can be of help in moderate amounts, for others it will simply make things worse. This is something you must figure out on your own, because people react differently to it, just like prescription drugs. From your post, I would absolutely recommend you do not start smoking it. I used to smoke alot before, but after a time it started giving me more negatives than positives, so now I smoke it very rarely and only when my mindset is right.

Most important of all is, do not go into anything like this without a determination to get better. If you try anything simply to numb your feelings, it will not help you.

Sweetie, please don't Start using or drinking.i hope you never have to walk into the fire of addiction because it will almost kill you to get out. i'm 20 almost 21 and have been using drugs since i was 12 years old. ive lost my family, home, fiancee, everything that i own and have been living on the streets since last august. it robs you of everything, mind body and soul. i would kill to never have started using drugs. i hate myself for it everyday. im now 20 on suboxone maintenance because my body is so dependent on drugs. it destroys lives and families. i pray you never have to go through it. just please remember drugs kill, sometimes quickly sometimes slowly but they will always do you in at the end. my father was sober for 30 years before he died but the reason he died the way he did was because of drugs and alcohol. even though he was sober for 30 years, my brother is a recovering cocaine addict, my sister are addicts too. ive lost all of them to my addiction. i prostituted at a young age, slept in warehouses, came short of selling my soul for my next fix. ive stolen from my family and friends and its shameful to say the least. i love you sweetie and am praying for you. PM me anytime you want. please please please do not pick up. ITS NEVER WORTH IT.
