Hospitals for BPD and Aspergers

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any hospitals for both BPD and Aspergers.

I've been in The Priory for 18 months and now they are looking for another hospital for me to go to.

Thank you x

I'm sorry you didn't get any replies to this. To be honest, it sounds like a very specialist field, so the professionals are probably the most likely to be able to find a suitable placement for you. Are they specifically looking for somewhere which deals with both BPD and Aspergers? Whilst I think it is generally accepted that BPD and Aspergers can be comorbid, anecdotal comments suggest that some psychiatric professionals don't believe the two can exist together, which might make it even more difficult to find such a hospital, so perhaps you could consider a placement that mainly focusses on just one of your diagnoses, with the option to receive support for the other via outpatient services, if that makes sense?

No other sadness in the world would do

Thank you for replying. I am currently in a hospital for personality disorders (I have BPD) where I have done 18 months of DBT. I think they are looking for a hospital that caters for both but possibly more the Aspergers.

I am quite happy to continue DBT in the community and receive help from ASSIST re: Aspergers but unfortunately my care co-ordinator isn't listening to me.

Thank you for replying.

There are definitely some for autism/aspergers. You're at the Priory, Roehampton I think? I think there's an Aspergers unit in Roehampton/nearby with a different organisation because a friend of mine used to work there (though I might be confused!).

It doesn't matter where you come from; it matters where you go.
No-one gets remembered for the things they didn't do.
We won't all be here this time next year,
so while you can take a picture of us.
We're definitely going to hell,
but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Yeah I am at The Priory - Roehampton. I know there's Huntercombe - Roehampton so maybe it's that one?

Maybe if you can't find one that specializes in both, you could talk with your doctors about which of the two you seem to have the most distressing symptoms of? And then get one that specializes in that?
