So I requested my username to be changed, and as soon as I typed it in, it came back as unapproved. It's stormerr right now, and I just wanted to change it to Stormerr. It said it's against a rule that's in place, but I'm not sure what that rule is. Does anyone know?

Just hazarding a guess, but perhaps usernames aren't case sensitive, and so you would be breaking the rule of "new username must not be the same as a username of another current member".

Yup, I just logged in as narcissa instead of Narcissa but it still worked, so Stormerr is considered the same as stormerr.
I imagine you would get round this by changing your username to something different, waiting for it to happen, and then requesting a change to Stormerr. It's just because at the time of the request there is another member with the name you have requested (in this case you!), but once that's not your username anymore it should work. I do know for certain that the filter doesn't include old usernames, because I've once stole someone's old username after they had changed away from said username. (It confused the hell out of everyone and was excellent fun!)

Also, it just occurred to me that it is more a technical issue than a modding issue, so there is probably nothing Cam can do about it anyway. So my advice might be completely useless and you're better off with Jenna's suggestion anyway. Especially as by now you most likely requested a username change anyway.
I agree that changes can, and do occur more frequently than every 3months, though I do remember in the dark and distant past that there was a message or something around saying that it wasn't allowed any more frequently than that.
Earlier in the thread stormerr said she had requested a name change so hopefully Cam/ James/ Harley (/have I missed anyone that can do them?) can sort that if she has. I don't know how long these sorts of things take though, I imagine it varies depending on their availability; I think they used to be done once weekly.
And Jenna, I think everyone around at the time got confused by your name change!
