Contains alcohol - i hate that i started drinking

it's only been maybe a week since i've really started drinking and when i drink i get smashed fast. it's such an easy vice it's so bad...i do bad things to myself already than to drink like i do, and i'm on medications where alcohol makes the medication and it's effectiveness null pretty much. just another bad coping skill....just had one drink today with a group right after work and that's all, but my brain is screaming for more. i'm just going to go to sleep...so dumb...last thing i need now is to add on a drinking habit.

I know it might not seem like it now but it is good that you are able to recognise it as a problem because this means something that you can work on. Recognising that it is a problem is the first step. I found this article on quitting drinking that gives some really good strategies that you could try. Hope this helps. Take care

thank you for that link. it is actually really helpful. i do recognize that this is becoming a problem(but i didn't drink anything yesterday! go me!), but i do need to start setting limits for myself. actually the only reason why i didn't drink yesterday was because of the night before last night i drank way too much and was just doing my body a favor and not drink.
again thank you so much for that link.

In social settings is it possible to get a non alcoholic version of something- or a really fancy snazzy version- I get a soda- but put a lime in it a small straw- things to play with while I am out so that I don't have to feel badly others are drinking alcohol. The drug interaction is crap/ unfair but you need to let your doctor(s) know about it. Hang in there.
