So, I got sent home from work today because apparently I'm too emotional to be there. I got taken to the office because one of the managers wanted to talk to me about something and I ended up saying about how I wasn't eating or sleeping properly and my depression and anxiety had been bad for ages and ended up having a meltdown and then got sent home.
I got sent home yesterday because I wasn't feeling very well and I suspect that that's because I'm run down from not eating or sleeping properly.
I know that I don't eat when I'm stressed, not because I don't want to, I don't do it on purpose, I just don't have an appetite, I try to eat but I can't.
I've had so much going on lately, I split up with my ex two months ago and it was kind of unexpected, everything was going well with us but it just wasn't going to work out at that point in time, and I was in love with him pretty much. I fell out with one of my best friends the other day, I'm stressed out because of work, I'm homesick, I feel like none of my friends bother with me, I have one friend that wants to spend time with me, everyone else just makes plans with me and then cancels and makes excuses all the time.
I just feel rubbish all the time and I just want everything to stop.
I've got a doctors appointment at the beginning of next month, only because I've been told by more than one person that I should go because they've noticed how bad I am and I haven't even said anything.
I don't know what to do until then though. I just want to be better and not be upset and feeling shitty all the time.
Hey, I'm sorry you're feeling so run down, maybe your doctor can recommend something to help with your appetite, you need to eat to get energy and feel better. Would time off work so you can rest help? Have you thought about having something like Smoothies to get some nutrition into you without it feeling like food. I hope you feel better soon, mand x

I was told by my manager today that I need to move my doctors appointment forward and I explained to him that I can't in case I need medication and I don't have the money to pay for it at the moment. He said he would give me the money and also said that if I need a doctors appointment when I'm supposed to be working, it'd be fine, even though we're not meant to do that.
I've got time off next month, I don't have any holiday left to book until then but I get two days off a week so it's not too bad, I guess.
I'm just forcing myself to eat at the moment, especially since I got told by work yesterday that I'm being irresponsible by not eating.
Hopefully the doctors appointment will help. Perhaps it would help to eat small bits but more frequently or even incorporate things like smoothies in as that will help with your appetite too. By eating and getting enough sleep it helps build our resilience which in turn makes it easier to cope. Hold on there, you can get through this
"Recovery is something that you have to work
on every single day and it's
something that doesn't
get a day off."
I find it really hard to eat properly anyway because of work, I have two meals a day though so it isn't too bad, I guess.
I just arranged to go and see my friend for a weekend when I have holiday, maybe going away for a few days will make me feel better.
My manager is usually really unhelpful and I said to the manager I spoke to the other day that the only reason I haven't told him anything is because I don't feel like he would be very understanding but he's surprised me. He told me off today for always saying that I'm not the sharpest knife in the draw and said I shouldn't put myself down and actually made me feel like I'm good at my job today so that made me feel a bit better.
I'm just worried about what will happen if I get signed off work, I doubt I will so I don't even know why I'm stressing out about it, I'm just worried about losing my job and my house because I've worked really hard for what I've got now and I don't want to be back where I started again.
Good that he is being a bit more supportive, keep them in the loop, maybe talk to occupational Health see if they have any ideas about making it a bit easier at work for the next while.

I've just got to wait now for my doctors appointment and see what they say, my manager said I could move it forward and he would pay for any medication that I need but I don't want to do that, only because I'm too polite to let him do that and I think that I should sort my own things out and be responsible for myself.
I think my appetite has finally come back now. I ate loads yesterday compared to what I've been eating the past few days, I'll see how today goes though before I get too excited about it.
I've been catching up on sleep whenever I have a spare moment as well, I cancelled my plans that I had with a friend yesterday because I had a really bad migraine and just wanted to sleep it off.
I'm starting to generally feel better now just for having a day of doing nothing yesterday, I'm still going to go to my doctors appointment though because I've let it get to this point and I don't want it to get any worse.
Thank you for all the replies by the way, I really appreciate it.
I'm feeling a bit better, just stressing out about the doctors next week. My manager doesn't want me to be signed off or anything but I think it would do me good, even if it's just for a week or something.
Going to work stresses me out too much, been looking for another job that's hopefully not as stressful
Thank you for asking :)
Thank you :)
It's not until next Wednesday, I'll let you know how it goes. I've got holiday next month as well so I'm going to spend a weekend with one of my best friends in Wales, I think that would do me some good to get away for a bit as well.
I hope it goes well with the doctor. I'm glad your manager has offered you help. People can, and do, surprise you.
When I was working and had mental health problems the one person I would have told you 100% would not help me and would totally judge me were the opposite and their attitude totally changed towards me. They were totally brilliant and became a good friend - it turned out he was worried about me and didn't know how to say without risking me getting worse and his wife had had serious mental health problems herself.
I hope you have a lovely break in Wales and the weather is nice for you!!
He's been super nice since I've been sent home so I'm making the most of it.
I'm going to Llandyfaelog, not entirely sure where it is haha. I used to live in Carmarthen a few years ago and then I moved to Cardigan.
I hope so, we've planned a day out so it has to be nice.
I've got two days off work now so I'm just going to use it and catch up on some sleep, my manager was really nice to me yesterday, apart from when he tried to make out that I hadn't done any work when I'd worked hard all day to keep the counter full. But I had compliments off him so I can't complain too much, I guess :)
hi Stacey, hope everything goes ok at the doctors and you get the help you want/need, I went to the doctors after having a breakdown and it was the best thing I did, with help and support im slowly getting better, good luck and big hugs x
I had one in the summer and had to go for CBT and stuff but I was really stupid and told them what they wanted to hear and they let me finish it two weeks early. I'm actually going to stick to it this time though, I can't keep getting like I do.
