I am currently:
constant anxiety

I have constant anxiety at the moment. Well for the last 4-5 months.
It's like a generalised anxiety that I can't equate to anything im particular.

I take clonazapam daily but it doesn't seem to do much any more.

Do anyone have any advice on how to overcome this?

Thanks

Hey I'm sorry you've been having so much trouble with anxiety.

I can understand the generalised anxiety that you can't really connect to anything in particular, I get that often.

I've had regular benzos when it's been really bad, sometimes I had to change the particular medication to another because they all work slightly differently. So to keep from going into a bit of a state of extreme anxiety to the point where you can't really function you may need to swap over. But there may be some digging you need to do to see if there is any link between the times and situations you feel the anxiety, you may be a connection or common theme you are unaware of.

Other things that would be more long term are basic things like distress tolerance, little soothing, comforting things you can do to calm yourself. Just basic stuff that can have a big impact.

Hi love, I'm sorry you feel so anxious. I can definitely relate.

Are there any particular situations that trigger the anxiety?

I tend to practice breathing techniques. Taking long, deep breaths.
I also talk to myself and try to reassure myself. Saying things like 'It'll be okay', 'You're safe', 'Realistically what is the worst that can happen?'.
I find thinking about the worst case scenario and coming up with ways to cope with it helps because, although it very rarely happens, you feel prepared.

There are quite a few good apps to help deal with anxiety and panic attacks. Might be worth looking into?

Thinking of you xx

Anxiety can be really difficult to deal with but their are things you can do to help manage the anxiety so it doesn't feel as overwhelming. Practising breathing techniques and also relaxation techniques can help. There is some good information on different strategies you could try here

Another thing that can help is self-talk. So use some coping statements to help get you through. Some things you could say to yourself could be:
-Anxiety is not dangerous, it is just uncomfortable
-Right now I have feelings I don't like. They will be over soon and I will be fine
-It is not the first time I have felt anxiety. I am going to take some deep breaths and keep on going
