Contains sexual abuse - Supporter workers

Basically I was sexually abused for some time and a lot of the supporters where I've now moved to are male and I'm struggling with that which I know is wrong but it feels wrong.

Hey Katy.

I don't think it's 'wrong' for you to feel this way, I think it's completely understandable. Are there any of the staff members who are female which you get along with? Perhaps it'd help to speak to them about it?

I'm sorry you've experienced such distress.

Can you ask go see female professionals? All of my team are female and it's much raised. They technically have to allocate you to female professionals should you wish.

Keep us updated,

X

I know where you're coming from, a lot of my support workers are men. Are there any female workers? Maybe you could discuss it with them? I've found that over the months I've lived here I've started to build a relationship with a few of the male workers but it did take a long time.

Hope you're ok xx

I will love myself despite the ease with which I lean toward the opposite.

I don't think it is a wrong way to feel at all. May people who have been abused by males would feel the same and vice a versa. Are you able to speak to any of the female staff about the way you feel about it at all?

I agree with everyone above, maybe just ask them if there is any female support workers that you can get in contact with.
