US/Canadian dollar?

Just discovered that altho our dollar is (finally) higher than america's, they still refuse to reflect it in their prices....or if they do , they then hit you with a 'levy' so all you just saved, is gone...and then some.

Now technically they are NOT legally bound to accept 'foreign currency' at all. Well isnt that interesting???

So they have leached off us for how many years ( i believe i read the dollar hasnt been par in over 30 YEARS) ?

Funny enough at that previous time , it was taken to court and they LOST and this practice was deemed ILLEGAL...hmmm...guess someone forgot to tell them that???

What are your opinions/experiences?

romp

I am currently:

I live a few hours from they US/Canadian border...and I have gone twice since the end of September. It's been over all more expensive for us. Especially compared to past years. I think it's more unfair for you Canadians, but it hurts us here to. Also, it's sort of sad that we're on par with you lot. No offense intended. I plan on becoming a dual Canadian-US citizen if I go to University there.

Oh, and shops in Canada always seem to be okay, even before, with taking my US currency even when we were 4 hours from the US. They'd calculate the exchange rate and all as well. No one anywhere in the US ever wants to take my Canadian money.
