Nothing to lose.

What does it matter if you are gone?
An empty car, headlights catching the morning fog
Looking ahead to traffic lights
Why don’t you just go? No one is around.
Lights are green; you set out on the same journey
Knowing full well you will end up at the same destination
Alone, cold, engine burning, smoke filling the night sky
The stars shine down on you but you turn away
Some burn brighter than others
I hear you contemplating telling them, what hurts, what you fear, and how you feel
Sometimes the question is fired at you, and all you ever can muster is ‘I’m ok’
Are you hoping for someday?
A day where you feel it is less dangerous to say
Right now I can that you are more terrified of letting the words come out of your mouth
Than you are of wasting away
I hear you speaking to the moon I feel how that comforts you
The moon and the stars are close together but the stars seem too fade
I’m scared for you, did I ever tell you that?
I’m scared if you keep holding onto the moon, the stars will be the ones to turn away
And it’ll be in the day where you look for the moon, and then you are met by the burning sun.
When you can’t run or hide from the heat, the honesty, the hopelessness
And you burn, burn until you are ash, dust, nothing… no one.
