I finally got around to texting my aunt about having some of my stuff shipped over to Germany. I've been putting it off for ages. Also (and I'm cheating a bit here because this happened yesterday) I picked up a prescription and asked about my next doctor's appointment, entirely in German. I understand quite a bit of German but I'm always extremely anxious about speaking it, even with people I feel comfortable with, so I'm glad I managed to do that by myself.

I went to my great-uncle's funeral today. I didn't want to go because I didn't feel ready to go to another funeral, the last one was my mum's two years ago and I try to not think about it too much.
But I did go, and it was ok, and it was nice to see my family.
