Kitten question

Would it be cruel to have a kitten and keep it in my bedroom? Seen a kitten I want to adopt but I my dad is allergic to them so it would need to be kept in my room. It would have litter tray and toys and food etc. I am going to be only on half days at work from now on so it would not always be alone.

Personally I think it would be cruel to keep a cat in one room, they need space and will naturally want a lot of room to move around in. Plus your room will stink and be full of cat hair/dander....you would need to be spotlessly cleaning your room everyday.

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.

If you need to ask if something is cruel or not, it probably is.

Cats need exercise, fresh air and plenty of space to run around, play and socialize. The cat hair would still be on you/your clothing, and that still can set off your dads allergies even if he isn't in direct contact with the cat.

You have to be careful with pets like bearded dragons, as you'll need to think about reserve energy supply for your tank incase of a power cut and stuff like that. I'd love a bearded dragon though.

Good luck looking for a pet :)

Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.

What about a hamster or gerbil?

A cat would be very upset to be confined to 1 room. It would be very cruel. You're better off with small rodents or fish. Though tropical fish need special heated tanks etc

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

It'd be cruel to your cat and your dad. Cat hair gets everywhere, you will trail it through the house and cause him to suffer. Kitty will hate being in one room and spend all its time trying to escape. Hell, my cat hated not being able to go outside when she was younger

Never forget what you are for the rest of the world will not.
Wear it like armor and it can never be used to hurt you

I'm sorry you won't get the kitten :( hope you find something else instead, I love fish personally, I always had them growing up and would have them now but my cat would eat them!

Be careful with Bearded Dragons - it only takes something very small to ruin their health. If you get one, make sure you do your research properly.

hey

I think if you really want a cat you should ask another family member to keep your cat at their house, that way you could see the cat when you want and it wont harm anyone seeing as your dad is allergic.

Crested geckos are pretty easy to care for. They don't need a heat source unless the room gets really cold and I only by food maybe twice a year because they eat a powder mixed with water. So after the initial cost of the tank and pet they are really cheap. But if you are looking for a pet you can take out and play with this may not be the pet for you unless you get it from a breeder that hand raises them, the ones for pet stores tend to be jumpy since they aren't handled much.

I'll stop ranting, if you want to know anything else just PM me.

Cheers
