You maybe in the assessment phase where you revive the odd £50 something a week. The medical may suggest whether you are given ESA or not and of you will be in receipt of ESA whether you'll be in the support group or work related activity.

Also if you are in receipt if dla then you may bypass the medical and go straight into a support group.
I went via ESA first and then got my dla but I had to have an assessment and a medical whereas my partner got awarded dla first and then applied for ESA and he bypassed all the medicals. Make sure you state if your in therapy as you can hopefully be looking into support group as this is seen as a long term issue.

Some people bypass the medical, but it's relatively rare. You should also get all decisions in writing.

However, no one here can tell you what your situation is. You'll need to get it clarified by the Job Centre. You should have a number to contact them on.

This happened to me. But you still will need to send in a doctor's note, I didn't for a while as I didn't realise.

To start with you will likely need a doctor's note, which considering your cc is helping you, I don't see it being a problem. As fire fly says, you will probably be in the assesment group just now. You could phone them up and ask them to explain it to you. As for being called up for a medical, it doesn't always happen. I have never been asked to go for a medical and I have been on esa for quite a while.

I applied for ESA in Early May and it took them 13 weeks for me to hear anything from them. And that was because I actually finally pulled myself together enough to actually ring them.
I then sent them in 'fit notes' from my GP saying I'm unfit to work. I've had a questionnaire from ATOS and sent that back to them but haven't heard anything else from them.
I haven't had an assessment, but just keep sending them Dr's notes. I get the minimum of £56.80 a week. Come April, when my car insurance is up for renewal, I won't be able to afford it, and I will have to sell my car, pay my parents back and, because I live in the middle of nowhere, with no public transport, I will be isolated and alone.

Anyways...
I have found that they keep paying as long as I keep sending the fit notes in to them.

Same happened with me. I started on £60 a week. However after I sent a doctors note and went through the medical (still took 8mnths) my money doubled
