Medication and Sexual Function

Hi, so when I started my new meds I lost the ability to orgasm. It was very frustrating.
I have since stopped those meds, but it's been about 3 weeks and I still can't orgasm. I still feel pleasure but it's like I've lost half the nerves in those places and nothing is as intense as it used to be.
Does anyone have any idea how long it will take to go back to normal?

Hi,
My partner had the same issue. He found though that it took a few months before he got the ability to have pleasure after stopping the medication. X

It depends what medication it was. Some meds take days to get out if your system some weeks/months.

I had this problem with rispiridone and it took about 6-8 weeks after coming off it to get full sexual function back.

It was venlafaxine. Sounds like I've got another month at least :(

Sexual dysfunction does take time to recover as the receptors can upregulate or downregulate, depending on the medication. I have no experience though as I've never done anything sexual in my life.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
