How do you know?

How do you know when things are just as good as they are going to get and you should stop trying to take a bunch of different meds that have a ton of side effects? I'm at a point where i have been on this med cocktail for almost ten years and I'm wondering if this is the best quality of life I will have. I'm not complaining or anything, I've come a long way. Just wondering if anyone has a similar perspective.

Do you feel better on the meds than off?

If they help, then why stop taking them?

If they don't help, then maybe you should see how you feel without them- don't change your medication until you speak to a doctor though.

I've been on various meds for 7 years. I've come off most of them, but continue to take 2 antidepressants as I feel I function better on them.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

I know the feeling , I am always thirsty , have tremors and have put on TOO MUCH weight but deep down I know if I quit meds I'll end up in the ward again or dead even, I SO hate taking them but that's the way it is...

I was not trying to say that I want off meds, I know better than that. I am more wondering if I should try new meds that may possibly have less side effects or work better than the present ones or stick to what has gotten me through thus far.
