Extreme OCD camp BBC3

Hey guys,

Don't know if there is already a thread about this...

I saw the 2 part documentary on i player and thought it was really good. I have mild OCD - definitely mild compared to these guys - and I was touched by their courage and determination to get better.

Did anyone see it? I think a camp somewhere in the wilderness for 10 days would be terrifying but at the same time I think I would really benefit from this type of therapy, maybe make some new friends too and find some confidence.

I watched parts one and two, and thought it was really interesting, definitely a different approach. I've not got OCD so it definitely helped me understand it a lot better, so well done BBC Three. I'm also glad it seemed to benefit the six young people a considerable amount :)

I watched it tonight and enjoyed it though at one point there was a comment from one of the therapists about how it was just OCD and they weren't really crazy like those with psychosis which made me grr

Me too, it was more the fact they called psychosis crazy that annoyed me. Psychosis is as much a symptom of a disorder as anything and does not indicate mentalness ;)

I watched the entire thing, personally I don't have OCD, but it was so obvious how scary it was for them and how much effort it took to push themselves past their limits. Very inspiring and it was good to see how they'd all managed to gain something positive out of it at the end :D ...I agree though the "crazy" comment was a bit ignorant especially coming from the therapist who should know better!

That annoyed me too...

I have OCD traits, as does my dad so it was interesting to watch, IM a bit odd like that thought anything on mental health and i really enjoy watching them even if i am sometimes triggered.
