Fibromyalgia and depression

Hi not really sure where to start so I'll just jump in I guess.

I've always struggled with strong emotional responses. Due to a big pile of things when I was in my 20s I attempted suicide and was found in time. I got almost no help from the nhs apart from Prozac.

Anyway long story short I was critically ill with glandular fever a few years back and I've never really recovered. I now have Fibromyalgia and depression, I'm in pain 24/7 due to this and I'm really fed up with it all go has had me on citalopram, seroxat, Prozac, paroxetine, mirtazapine and pregabalin. Nothings ever worked to lift my mood and I wake up every day feeling like today is the day I'm going to count all the meds in the cupboard and take the lot.
Don't really know what to do next, nothing seems to help.

It is hard when you have been fighting for so long but nothing seems to work, it is soul destroying. There is always hope though, sometimes we just need to try something different from what we have already tried. Have you ever tried any kind of therapy? I wonder if that is something that could be an option for you.

Well I'm game for anything have you got any suggestions I could throw at gp? I got handed a lovely little card with a phone number on it but I'm not interested in having a discussion over the phone with someone it's too impersonal and I just couldn't do it.
They've given up on ssri's now but nothing seems to touch the horrible dark cloud ganging over me.

I've almost resigned myself to the depression and the pain

Have you tried duloxetine? My partner takes it for her depression and it really helps her, it says in the patient info leaflet it's also used to treat fibromyalgia. My old physio used to run a fibro group at the hospital, has your GP mentioned anything like that? Take care hun x

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with Fibromyalgia and Depression. I understand completely what you're going through.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last year. I also had Glandular Fever and feel this was one of many triggers. I think my recurrent operations, Endometriosis, Depression and Anorexia all contributed.

Can you GP refer to you a specialist?

Sorry youre struggling so much.
My mum has fibro and has found a combination of prozac and amitryptaline (sp) helps for both pain and mood?
