break down

My sister, her boyfriend & my boyfriend have all said that they think I'm bi polar. I don't disagree.... But I think its more of me being depressed. My bf knows everything about me & the way I feel. My sister & her bf on the other hand, don't. But in the end, know matter how much anyone knows they'll never really understand anyways.
There will be times every so often that I just break down, it varies from hours... To weeks...
I go into a state of hysterically crying for hours wanting to do nothing but sleep.. wanting to cut myself & take sleeping pills. Its uncontrollable..

Hey, it seems like you're really struggling right now. I'm so sorry about that.
Do you see a psych? If you don't, I know it can be scary to see one for the first time, but it's the only person that can diagnose you with a MH condition.
Meaning you can get help for that :)
However, being able to pinpoint what you're having trouble with makes it easier, and you can tell your doctor what you think is wrong.

Do you know what bipolar disorder is? It is a mood disorder where you experience both mania and depression(alternating, not at the same time). I'm sure you know what depression is, and what you're going through seems quite similar to depression(though as I said, only a professional can diagnose). As for mania, it'a an elevated state, where you can feel, very hopeful, excited, energetic, agitated, impulsive or enraged. Do you also seem to feel like that all of a sudden? And after some time(could be days, a week etc), your mood goes down again?

Then it could be bipolar disorder. Seeing a psychiatrist, could really help you, so I hope you get the help you need.

If I only could
make a deal with God.

I'm not quite sure what you want out of this thread, but...

They are not professionals and cannot diagnose you. Probably the only way you'll get them to stop guessing what's wrong with you is to get a diagnosis from a professional.

A lot of disorders cause unstable moods, not just bipolar. I think sometimes people who don't have a lot of experience with mental health label changing moods as bipolar because it seems the most obvious thing, even though they don't really understand what it is.

It's interesting how people pick up on things - I was convinced my friend was bipolar months before she was diagnosed (her previous diagnosis was depression but it didn't sit right).

However, it's always best to speak to your doctor / team and get a proper diagnosis :)
