So I figured I'd join another forum, perhaps one more appropriate to me, signed up and everything then this is what i was confronted with:

That sucks. Maybe you have to verify your email or something before you can access it.

Some forums block Hotmail/ Yahoo etc. It might be worth contacting the admin.

Please don't take this the wrong way. Rather than joining another forum that won't really stop you being lonely why don't you see if your local MIND has a befriending service. That would help you to meet people and join groups in a safe way.
This is a comment in general, but I do think that some people spend so much time on the Internet talking about what is wrong that they stop living a life that would actually change things.

Thanks, I am already part of the the befriending scheme though have little time left now as I'm working, also they seem to struggle to find people they think would suit me... so I am trying.
