Klonopin is the only medication that has ever done anything for me at all.
I'm on 4mg a day now, and have been for longer than they usually keep people on that medication (been on it a few years).
It didn't make me sleepy, it made me feel relaxed in the beginning as my body got accustomed to it. Kind of loopy and careless, if you will.
Now it just takes the edge off anxiety.
It didn't help regulate moods for me, it helped manage anxiety.

Hope this helped a bit.
Thats good to hear, Im on a very small dose, and Im supposed to take it twice a day and was wondering a bit a bout it and how it would make me feel, or if they have worked for others.
My doctor says she is only going to keep me on it for a couple of week as it is habit forming, so I'm hoping that it will make me feel decent instead of over medicated or sick like most meds I have received.
I use Klonopin as needed. It was taking it every night before bed and felt like (for me personally) it made me more anxious throughout the day because all my anxiety-less-ness was wasted while asleep. When I take it during the day, it doesn't make me sleepy. It's like being a bit buzzed if you will. I'm happy, I'm able to be social, I don't get as anxious-- I reach like an anxiety threshold where it can't go any higher. It's the best thing I've found for my anxiety.
I took it for a very long time and its one of the few that's actually helped me, which seems to be a common sentiment. I stopped taking it because of the habit forming nature of it; I just didn't like being on such an addictive med for so long. But I have seriously considered going back on it because it helped so much. It can make you a little drowsy, so do be aware of that at first. But nothing drastic in my experience. However, do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, especially if you take it every day. It can cause very serious withdrawal symptoms, which I did experience to a mild extent. I had very annoying leg twitching from going off it, but I have read it can cause worse because of how physically addictive it is. So I think it works well for a lot of people, but you do need to be aware of its addictive qualities and not to stop it abruptly.
Stereotypes are the epitome of human laziness.

wow that sounds amazing, I have a lot of problems with social anxiety and generalized anxiety myself, I am supposed to take it during the day and at night. So far, I have only taken it at night because I'm scared about how it will make me feel. (like will I be able to drive or function normally ect?) so thats why I came here.
Im going to see if I can take it as an as needed med instead.

Yes I've head that it is easily addictive, that's why she is only going to keep me on it for 3 weeks. She said she was going to start me on abilify in addition to my lexapro after these three weeks of being on klonopin.
However, within the first day of taking it, I already feel like I can concentrate where I haven't been able to for almost a year, I am considerably less anxious and I feel almost like I can carry out my daily activities without feeling it is a huge emotional and physical burden.
But after the three weeks are up, I know shes going to put me on the abilify. :(
i took it in combination with other meds when i was on a whole boatload of them, so i'm not exactly sure what it would have done on its own. it was effective and calmed me down quickly (ocd, social anxiety), but i don't think that my doctor really used it appropriately as after about 7 months they had me taking 8 (prescribed!) relatively high doses of it a day as my tolerance had built up, which meant that it was terrible when i had to come off it... i think the three weeks idea will be fine though. i don't remember side effects specific to that drug
this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
The magical part: They NEVER run out, so borrow some any time you want.
