Calling all creative people - decorating room ideas?

I've just acquired two large cream canvas wardrobes for my room, and every time I look at them, I can't help feeling like the 'curtain' across the front looks like a blank space which needs to be filled. If they were walls or doors I'd hang posters or cards on them, but they're fabric and need to be pulled to one side regularly, so that's not really feasible.

The canvas covers do come off, and they look like this: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/8758828.htm

Does anyone have any ideas about how to decorate them and make them look a little more personal/homely?

All ideas appreciated!

x

What about creating a design with buttons. They can easily be sewn on. Or you could stitch fake flowers onto it.

If you are going to use fabric paint you could create shapes with masking tape for neat edges and work in layers to create a funky design.

I like to tie die curtains. I usually use 2 colours and then I add stamps so it Looks more exciting.
I can post you a Picture if you are interested.
I also make a curtain for my sister where i sew small pearls on it. The ones some People use for making bracelets.
