Personal Piece - Safe - Silent Shame
Silent Shame.
Seems that I have been held in some
dreaming state. I twist in the waking world,
never quite awake.
No kiss, no gentle touch could wake me
from this slumber, until I realize that it was me
who held me under. I felt anguish, my pounding
hammer, in my fist, in my feet, in the hollows of
my eyelids. Shaking through my skull, my spine,
and down through my ribs.
I am dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone.
I am crawling like a crow to a boy, a body in the garden.
I’m dreaming like a ghost so in love with the wrong world.
I can feel the thunder, and see the lighting crack
across the sky, like a crooked four-fingered hand.
I am stitching up my mouth
Like a seamstress, in shame.
I am sneaking through my hidden door
If no one can hear me they can’t find me.
