the most stimulating antidepressent you've been on?
I've been having problems with my clozapine (anti-psychotic med) induced sedation and also motivation issues.
I'm on sertraline but am hoping to get it changed to something that might have more of a stimulating effect. So yeah, just wondered what has been the most stimulating for you? Have you taken it with other sedating medication and it still had an impact?
I'm aware everyone reacts differently to medication. Just want a rough idea to be honest.
Thanks.

I know this is an anti psychotic, but i think it can be used for depression to, aripiprazole was very stimulating for me.

Fluoxetine! I'm on quetiapine too and when I take the AD in the morning, soon after I have a bit more energy. Likewise taking the large dose of the AP at nght makes me zzzz

I've been on clozapine for nine years and the sedation can certainly be tough. I cannot function unless I get 8 hours of sleep so consider that. Also, I have found with this drug that the dosage must be exact. I take 125, not 100 or 150.

I found Duloxetine the most stimulating AD. I'm pretty sure that SNRIs are supposed to be more beneficial than SSRIs in addressing concentration, motivation and cognitive 'slowness'. I find Duloxetine pretty stimulating even if I've taken diazepam too.

Thanks for the replies :) They've been helpful.
I'm taking 450mgs of clozapine at night and it's helping with what it's prescribed for. Have tried different times, but it's best when I take it all at night.
I've been on aripiprazole along side a lower dose of clozapine and i didn't find it that stimulating so i doubt at this dose i would be. The venlafaxine withdrawals scare me.
I will have a read of duloxetine online. Thanks. I remember a psych in hospital saying something about the interactions between clozapine and fluoxetine and that levels get increased. I've had a mini brain wave now though, :) Hopefully the pharmacist will be present at my next appointment to discuss it.
Thanks again.
