tell the doctor I gave up meds?

Basically I went to.the doctor a while ago and got given mild antidepressents. I took them for about.six months then forgot to get my prescription and have been totally off them for 2-3 months. obviously this is a bit if a silly thing to do but I did it. my doctor should realise that I no longer ask for repeat prescriptions everymonth but I need to get medical insurance to travel and occupational health checks so don't want to leave it as gone.against medical advice.
I was thinking of writing the gp a letter cos it seems like a waste of an appointment but will that be enough? should I speak to him face to face?

I think you should speak face to face, it's not a waste of an appointment.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

You will need to see the GP face-to-face. Letters get lost and forgotten about etc. It's not a waste at all (My GP used to say no appointment is a waste, even the old lady who came in once a week for a cup of tea and a ten minute chat because she was lonely!)
