Moderators introducing themselves thread.

Hello :)

You may not have noticed a little stickied thread in this board: http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum...52#post2543852

I would like to know if anyone a.finds it useful. b.looks at it. c.thinks its necessary.

This is my opinion and its not the opinion of all the moderators, I dont think this thread serves much purpose, the chat mods especially are usually mostly in chat and therefore the people that are mostly likely to bump into them wont ever see the thread. Everytime we have staff changes we have to add/delete posts etc.

So I am wondering if it is necessary!

Thanks.x

It's only really handy if it was updated really regularly, old people deleted and stuff, given that the Main Site Staff Listings are automatically updated when people join/leave.

Yes I do look at it and it is needed. I never ever look at the other list (staff listing) because I think that's pointless as most people don't look there, where as we have this list in forum and community questions and I just find it better that way.

Never even knew it was there... But then I never look at Stickies because they are often so out-of-date.

I don't really think it's necessary, as long as there are other contact details available and that they are up-to-date. It might be an idea to highlight the active mods?

I see what you mean with highlighting active mods, but that changes on quite a regular basis and I think from what I know people are usually aware which mods are usually around.

Does anyone think its important to know these things about the mods?Is it a way of making us seem more....for want of a better word 'human.'

I looked at it this morning and mine is pretty out of date, Im wondering if its any different than looking at our profiles.

Can I ask why you think it is pointless? As I wouldve thought that having a list on the main page would be more handy than a thread buried in here?

I have no feelings for it, I use the staff listings. it is difficult somtime's to know which mods are active maybe then going blue would help that? Just I worry if I PM one they won't be on to read it so all my mod work will fall on probably only two mods shoulders. Not that I have frequently needed to pm

Hope this makes sense

That said I imagine it might be something new users could benefit from. When trying to find staff on a forum one usually checks these admin type boards, and maybe the more "human" insight would help them
For such a slow moving forum is it a problem to have it? It is not like serious where it's bumping off recent threads

We usually do go blue....but thats not something that could be recitified by the thread Im talking about.

But surely then just another staff list is necessary? Is it important to have a blurb from each mod?

I forget it is there most of the time and just use the staff listing instead as I find it quicker and easier.

Only checked it when there was a new mod and they posted in it. A couple of listed mods haven't even been here in 2013.

I didn't even know it existed. I don't think it is needed, I think the staff listings provide enough information as long as they are kept up to date
