Adult - Diffrence between care order && supervison order?!

Hey guys ..

Bit confused my son went from a child in need with no action to a looked after child soon as he was born we are currently in a mother and baby unit under going a parenting assessment the courts granted an intrum care order from what I understand I can't decide anything but I know that to go home they will be trying to apply for an intrum supervison order but what's the diffrence?? Would they try renewing the care order on the 3rd as the placements till mid June? Also had to have a psych assessment done yet to read his report .. Has anyone Been in this situation.

The main difference between a Supervision Order and a Care Order is that the LA does not share PR for the child with its parents under a Supervision Order. The child will also not be a looked after child or in the LA’s care so the LA are not obliged to hold Looked After Children’s Reviews or appoint an Independent Reviewing Officer for the child. The child will however be subject to a Care Plan filed with the Court which the LA will have to comply with under the scrutiny of the Court. The parents will provide the day to day caring and decision-making for the child and the LA will offer support and services to the parents. Under the SO the LA is also not entitled to remove the child from the parents’ care without further recourse to the Court.

The LA may apply for an SO in circumstances where parents are not fully co-operating with the LA and an application for the SO will place pressure on the parents to engage and bring about adequate change for the child.

Thanz hunni just so worried I want him off this care order its so scary guess we see what happens on the 26th and when the care order review date will be set so much stress x
