hey guys,
thought i would share an idea i have had. it is a way to find something to do when you need our mind to be elsewhere.
all you need is:
a pen
a piece of paper
a 6 sided dice
the idea being whenever you need to you roll the dice, and the number you get tells you what to do.
on your piece of paper write these down,
1- creative
2- active
3- relaxating
4- stimulating
5- mindless
6- social
you can the write a few chosen activities next to each as prompts/ideas (if you have enough you can number those too and role the dice again)
so for example, mine might look like:
1- creative (writing, photography, calligraphy, polymer clay)
2- active (gym, rock climbing, walk, go to park/library/supermarket)
3- relaxating (read, listen to music/radio, bath/shower, play with pets)
4- stimulating (crossword, online game, tidy/rearrange/reorganise a room, watch a documentary)
5- mindless (go on funny websites eg lolcats, watch a film or tv, spin around in circles, make a fort from sofa)
6- social (chat to friends online, call someone to talk, go to pub with friends, post on forums)
i could also number my examples 1-4 and if i get a 5 or a 6 i roll again.
so roll one = 4
im going to do something stimulating.
roll two = 1
im going to do a crossword
like i say it is something i came up with the other day and am trying out as i know it can be hard to think when your are in a bad place mentally and there can seem nothing to do, so im trying this out.
