Different services?

Hi,

I've been told my case is quite complex and it has been suggested that i'm under the care of multiple teams.

Has anyone had experience of this? The thought of it is quite daunting.

I'm under a Pain Management Team, an Eating Disorder Team and CMHT.

Hiya,

My case is also 'complex' with being under the PD team (who only deal with complex/severe cases themselves), dietician and dermatology. It's understandable that the thought of it is quite daunting, it's a lot to take in. I think in my experience you have to prioritise whatever is the worst at the time and deal with that. Keep posting if it helps x

Hi,
I was deemed "treatment resistant" and had to go to a residential treatment program in which I also had a teams of doctors helping me. It was extremely difficult and I was depressed for months, but am now 99.9999% better.
I came on this site to offer hope to those who think their fate is all but decided. Write me back if you want to talk more!

Hi there,

I am also under the care of multiple health teams and my problems aren't even complex! Sometimes it's just that the issues you are experiencing are quite spread out, and so you might need to see multiple people who can treat different things to help all of them. Unfortunately there are no services that cater especially to ALL problems! You're definitely not alone though and I'm pretty sure this is quite a common thing for those with co-morbid disorders.

I am under the care of both the district emotional wellbeing team (for mild-moderate short term cases) and the CAMHS emotional disorders team (for severe-complex ongoing cases) who each play their part in my treatment. It's a little bit annoying at times when it comes to appointments but they both keep in touch about my progress so it's not too bad. I can understand it can feel a little bit overwhelming at first though.

Take care <3
- Holly

I have a lot of input from services which i find helpful in trying to rebuild my life. A negative though is that i still feel like I am in some sort of bubble (similar to being in hospital) in that my week consists of a gardening course (with the mind charity) psychotherapy, art therapy and appointments with either my CPN, psychiatrist or dual diagnosis worker. I live in supported housing also. I just worry because I rarely see friends due to finding it difficult, but then due to so much contact with services i don't feel as isolated, but obviously at some point the help/support will decrease and i really hope by then i've learnt how be more social in the world.

I think its important too that all the people who are helping you communicate to each other.

It can be a bit daunting, and like Cedrus said, it is so very important that the teams are in communication with one another (or at least clearly aware of what the others are doing). Gradually you may find that you require less support in one area, and that the amount of service involvement reduces somewhat.

Remember, though, it is very positive to have these services in place because it means you are getting support tailored to your precise needs.
