I keep pondering if I have a good plan set for myself...
I know I'm not 18 or anything, but I thought the Vetrans of RYL may have a better opinion on this.
I have a plan set for myself regarding the first few years of adulthood.
I was thinking that during my senior year (12th grade, last year of high school), I'd apply to music and art colleges since I have a passion for music and a talent for art. I already plan to take the tests nesscary for college at the end of my junior year (11th grade, second-to-last year of high school) which I'm currently in right now.
If I get accepted, I will go to college and earn a degree in either music or art depending on the school.
If I don't, however, I was thinking of taking a year off of school before going to a community college and earn a degree in English probably or maybe Psychology. I'm not sure as of yet.
After college, I thought I could take two years to try to make a career out of music before falling on my other choices (art, acting, writing, and something in psychology maybe).
I also plan to not get married or have kids until I graduate college no matter how much I may want to. Think of it as a sort of motivation to get that college degree. I will however allow myself to be engaged during college, nothing more, if things do get that serious between me and another.
Throughout this whole period, I plan to finally go to a professional, if I haven't already, for help with my issues with Depression, self harm, and such because I can solely make that decision for myself without having to be scared of going to my mother and asking her.
Do you think this is a good idea for the coming years for me? Any advice for the coming years?
