So I was feeling a bit low today so pulled out a canvas I was given as a gift and decided to do a painting instead. It's an oil on canvas piece and the style was inspired by the amazing artist Joan Eardley. I don't think it's 100% finished I think probably over the next couple of days I'll tidy it up, but I was just happy with the colour contrasts and felt like posting it. Will update if I alter it any more :)

I'm sure I commented on another of your paintings a while back and we commented on Joan Eardley. Am I right? My memory sucks just now. Again, I like this. I like the intensity of it. Oils are such a lovely medium to work in. Painting when low seems a good distraction, so I hope you can keep this up.

I love it! I think what I like best about it is the simplicity. You didn't go into detail with the face which gives the viewer more room for interpretation allowing the piece to be seen more subjectively. Well done!
