Personality disorders and Autism.
Ages ago, a ward psychiatrist suggested that I have a personality disorder. My consultant disagreed and said that I definitely don't and I never had the official diagnosis. To this day I've never had an official diagnosis of a PD because my consultant said that autism can sometimes share some traits of PDs.
What PD could the ward psychiatrist have mistaken me for (he didn't know I have autism)?

Possibly bpd with the black and white thinking? I don't know much about autism so it's the only link I could make and I'm probably very off the mark.

Have a look at Schizoid, that is usually connected up with autism. [I have traits of that along with a heck of a lot of traits of other stuff, hence lack of inclusion in a diagnosis, I believe!]

Honestly, I'm not sure how helpful it would be to guess what this psychiatrist may have thought - particularly as your own consultant disagreed. Also, there is a great deal of contention surrounding PD diagnoses and their validity. That said, Schizotypal PD relates to social isolation, and Obsessive Compulsive PD reflects rigidity in cognition and behaviour. Either of those could potentially overlap with traits of autism.
