My Big Fat Diary

My Big Fat Diary started on E4 tonight... what did you guys think of it? I liked it, though it was a little triggering for me.

Watch the sunrise all alone
Sitting on the tracks
Hear the train come roaring in
Never coming back

Laying quiet in the grass
Everything is still
River stones and broken bones
Scattered on the hill

I enjoyed it :)

Based on the real diary of Rae Earl, who used to be a radio presenter on the no-longer airing Leicester Sound, so remember some of this from car rides to school!

They got rid of it and now there's just Capital, which sucks in comparison. Woe! :P

I've just watched it again and enjoyed it even more the second time around. I've seen one of the guy actors in something else though. It's bugging me. Think I need to take a trip over to Wikipedia.

I saw it and really enjoyed it, but I thought Rae is way cooler than all the friends she's trying to impress. It made me think back to being 16 and how I would have dealt with the issue of stigma. I loved her accent and thought she was funny (and that her therapist is awesome).

One bug-bear: her friend Tix threw a glass vase of flowers that was in the psych. ward toilet. I know it was a daydream of Rae's, but I think a plastic one might have been more realistic.

Still loving this.. Found it slightly triggering last night but on,y I'm a sense of being able to relate to getting the bad feelings out.

I too think Rae seems cooler than her friends and the things she does to fit in. A lot of it is her self belief though isn't it?
