Describe, in one or two sentences, why you think babies are cute (if you do).
PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
They have lovely big eyes and they are so tiny and there's just nothing like when a baby beams at you. That said the minute it starts shrieking/needs changing I very quickly return it to it's parent.
'Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.'
['There is only one thing we say to death. Not today'.']
'We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell. Oscar Wilde
Its hard to dance with the devil on your back. Sydney Carter
They trust you and love you completely and unconditionally, and evoke feelings of protector, teacher and instinctual love in you.
They are very charming when they gaze at you and smile at you and make funny noises and they smell lovely! (although not formula fed ones).
It's amazing to watch them and see how quickly they learn and how their brains work and you can see the potential they have to turn into a fully functioning adult, and the recognition that we were all babies once.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break
that its heart may stand in the sun,
so must you know pain.
There are only two ways in which one can live their life. One is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is.
I agree it's how they gaze at you which gets it for me. It just intrigues me as to what they're thinking about, if they are at all, or even what kinds of feelings they're experiencing at that moment in time.
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.

I don't think babies are cute...They are ugly little things.
Agreed. And nor do they smell nice.

I think they can be cute sometimes. It all depends. I think they are very strange looking, and the one I have met feels much heavier than she looks, which was surprising when I picked her up. She supposedly weighs about the same as my dog, but felt much heavier to me. I guess I think some of the noises babies make are cute, like the laughing and the sort-of talking.
I find babies cute because they don't tend to judge you. That being said the only babies I've ever been around have assumed I'm their mother and tried to nurse... O.o
I like working with babies and children because they have yet to discover the terrible, disgusting world around them. They are innocent and lack prejudice, not yet understanding what it is to judge and discriminate. Some babies are cute, others aren't. Yet they are honest, let's face it. If a baby doesn't want you to hold it, you'll know about it. But it's all a matter of opinion. Everyone thinks and feels differently. Especially about children.
Can I ask why you were wondering about this?
I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.
I can understand why people think that babies are cute but I don't hold that view personally, I think I'm a bit indifferent towards babies, I don't really like or dislike them.
Cuteness has been studied and is apparently to do with the big eyes (our eyes don't grow, so babies are born with big eyes) here's some articles about it...
'As newborns and infants human beings are not able to survive without help and care by adults. So a newborn needs certain characteristics which show its helplessness and need of protection so that adults are requested to take care of the baby. It has been scientifically proven that a baby’s proportions evoke such behaviour.
These childlike characteristics make a baby sweet and bring us to build rapport. We find it dinky. That even works when we see things reminding us of a baby or just parts of it.' from http://vector.tutsplus.com/articles/...racter-design/
'Scientists who study the evolution of visual signaling have identified a wide and still expanding assortment of features and behaviors that make something look cute: bright forward-facing eyes set low on a big round face, a pair of big round ears, floppy limbs and a side-to-side, teeter-totter gait, among many others.' from http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/03/sc...anted=all&_r=0
If they weren't cute then we wouldn't have survived this long because adults would be less willing to endure the trials of parenthood.
Also I think we're more likely to find our own relative babies cuter than others (on the whole) because we see aspects of ourselves in them.
On the subject of smells... I made the mistake of smelling my nephew just after he was born... It was not pleasant - smelt like burnt plastic! However, since then he smells gorgeous (most of the time!) Babies have a distinctive baby smell which is generally just scrumptious!
Sorry, just seen that you asked us to describe in one or two sentences!
