Support Please?

I have really been struggling recently with self harm and suicidal thoughts. Recently told people close to me about some abuse and am struggling with the consequences. Also was generally struggling before that and really don't know what to do with myself :(

Hiya,
I'm sorry that you're struggling so much and things have spiralled out of control. Do you have a support system in place to help with these thoughts? Do you know what's making you feel like this xxx

Are you with a cmht? Who referred you to them? What would you like to get out of the crisis team? I've found from the past that knowing what I wanted and how I wanted them to help actually helped alot. Maybe if you trust any of the crisis team maybe you could talk to them and tell them how you feel and what's going through your head? X

I am not with a CMHT currently. I self-referred after having been with them before. I was really desperate. I would like a referral to a CMHT having got issues now that were never an issue before. I do talk to them, mainly on the phone. O find it hard to talk in perosn at the moment

Do they see you face to face? If so maybe you could write things down? Have you tried speaking to your gp and maybe seeing if they think you need support from a cmht? X

They do see me face to face but I am finding it hard to give eye contact and stuff. My GP is unwilling to refer me to them.

Is there any reason why he's reluctant to refer you? Have you told him what's going on for you and how you feel honestly? X

Firstly, I just want to say Well Done for telling somone - it's a very brave thing to do. How did you feel after you told them?

I think if you were to see them in person, but you can't/don't feel like telling them or can give eye contact face to face, then like Tinkles said - writing things down and giving it to them can be a good idea.

I think they are reluctant to refer me as I haven't been able to tel them about the abuse yet. I think if I told them about it, I would be referred eventually.

Thank you. I feel rather raw after telling them. It was a lot for me to admit in one go... I will try writing it down and seeing what happens
