Needing Help, but No Money [US]

I want to find help. I've tried school, but they either dismiss everything or just give me generic crap. My mom has a job that doesn't give us anymore money than enough to buy food until the next check, can't even save up for an apartment and probably bills, too. Thank God we live with her friend... She has no car, but there is bus transportation. Though that costs money, too... I really just want to talk to a professional in some way, a FREE way, so I can finally get answers and get help. Though doesn't mean I can go back on medication as well, too, though... Have to buy that... I wanna go back on meds so bad... They helped so much... Why is this so hard? I just wanna be happy...

Hi sorry I don't have a lot of advice as I'm in the UK but just wanted to reply so you know someone is thinking of you. Perhaps you could use this forum as much as possible for support until you're able to see a professional?

I dunno what exactly to post in this forum... I use the others in RYL cause I seem to be able to free myself from self-diagnosing there, but here in the MH Discussion threads I start doing that.. I dunno why...

I don't know how old you are, but I know in my area there is a place that offers free counseling for young people. I don't think they explicitly advertise it, but they do it. All you need is parental consent. They are a youth crisis center. Perhaps you could look and see if there are any places that offer similar services in your area? Because they ARE out there. You just may need to call up and ask, because it may not be advertised on their websites, print ads, etc.

Also maybe look into mental health/support groups? I know that many of those are free. If you have bad social anxiety that might not be the best plan, but if that isn't a huge problem for you, it could be helpful!

I know you say there is no money to pay for therapy, but maybe also look into seeing if any places offer super low cost therapy (you may have to provide information in order to qualify for it) and you could look into getting a part time job or something to cover it? Of course if you aren't stable enough/don't have any time for that, that won't be much help, just thought I'd throw that out there too.

It would be worth looking into free organisations that can help and also mental health charities.

Your school should not dismiss your problems, I think it may be a good idea to approach someone at school who you find takes you seriously and cares and explain everything to them.
